Wisdom Tooth—The Phenomenon Is Not As Simple As It Seems To Be!

Wisdom teeth have been linked to dental diseases that affect people in their twenties and thirties. Wisdom teeth only come out in the late teens or early twenties. Because they are the last molars to come out, they sometimes tend to squeeze their way out and end up crowding the other teeth. When they are squeezing their way out, they almost always fail to position themselves correctly on the jaws. This then results in wisdom teeth that are angled or wisdom teeth that fail to fully erupt.

Wisdom teeth that are angled will soon start to trap food particles. Because the teeth will be angled they will make it impossible for the toothbrush to access all the surfaces of the tooth. This will, in time, allow for the continuous depletion of the enamel that protects the tooth by acids. These acids are produced from reactions that take place as result of the trapped food particles between teeth. When the enamel is depleted and is no longer able to protect the tooth, the acids can get to the pulp and affect the nerves. This can cause severe gum diseases that can cause severe toothache, locking of the jaw and even paralysis or death.

This is one of the reasons why it is very important to keep an eye on wisdom teeth as they can cause a whole lot of commission. There is, however, no need to worry for wisdom teeth can be extracted easily by a dental surgeon. So why not consult a dental surgeon now and get those misaligned wisdom teeth extraction.
